For over 20 years, Alpadia Lyon has offered an ideal learning environment in a 19th-century building on the Presqu’île, overlooking the Rhône. Our immersive activity program has something for everyone, from history enthusiasts to gastronomy lovers: what better experience than improving your French while enjoying cheese or champagne tastings?

Course Programs
General French courses
This course consists of 20 lessons per week, totaling 15 hours of classes. Maximum of 12 students per group.
The structure of this course helps you acquire general French language skills that you can easily practice every day. You will improve your fluency while having plenty of free time.
The minimum duration for complete beginners A1* is two weeks.
This course consists of 25 lessons per week: the standard course + 5 lessons per week dedicated to oral skills. Maximum of 12 students per group.
This course allows you to make significant progress.
The minimum duration for complete beginners A1* is two weeks.
This course consists of 30 lessons per week: the standard course + 5 lessons per week dedicated to oral skills + 5 lessons per week dedicated to strengthening written skills. Maximum of 8 students in the written skills reinforcement groups.
The minimum duration for complete beginners A1* is two weeks.
This course consists of 25 or 30 lessons per week: the standard course + 5 or 10 private lessons per week.
This is the option to choose if you want to combine standard French courses with private lessons! The solid foundations are taught in a group. Take advantage of the additional lessons alone with your teacher to work according to your level and linguistic expectations.

Tailor-made teaching that will allow you to progress at your own pace. You will discuss with the teacher the themes relevant to your personal objectives.
Choose the number of private lessons you want, starting from 1 lesson.
Exam preparation
This course consists of 30 lessons per week: the standard course + 10 lessons per week dedicated to preparing for the DELF B1, DELF B2, or DALF C1. Maximum of 8 students in the exam preparation groups.
The program lasts 4 weeks and will give you all the tools necessary to boost your confidence and prepare you thoroughly for the exams.
Our University Preparation program is designed for international students who wish to continue their studies in Europe. The program will help you develop your language skills, settle abroad, and offer you better chances of admission to your desired university.
Take advantage of our network of over 20 partner universities to pursue your studies in Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in various fields such as business, IT, tourism, or sustainable development.
Work and Study
Thanks to our course + volunteering program, you can improve your French skills and develop your sense of solidarity within a non-profit organization.
With our course + internship program, you can improve your French skills and boost your professional development.

Host familiy
Choosing to stay with a host family means enjoying the most complete immersion in the French language and culture. Located within 40 minutes from the school, all Alpadia host families have been carefully selected by our dedicated Student Support team. This ensures quality and follow-up for you.
Our families are ready to help you discover the secrets of Lyon and assist you in your learning. You can choose to stay in a single or double room, with either breakfast or half-board (breakfast and dinner) options. Arrival on Sunday and departure on Saturday. Additional nights can be booked if needed. All dietary preferences are welcome.
Studio
Do you want to be completely independent during your stay? Student residence studios are perfect for you! Enjoy the comfort of a furnished studio in one of the student residences, located within 30 minutes of the school.
Each studio features a kitchenette and a private bathroom. The residences are equipped with laundry facilities.
Shared apartments
The ideal solution for being independent without living alone! Our shared apartments allow you to live with other students from the school only. Fully furnished, these apartments are very spacious and feature a fully equipped kitchen. They are located within 30 minutes of the school, with a washing machine either in the apartment or in the building’s laundry room.
You will benefit from a cleaning service twice a week. You can choose between a single room or a double room. Private bathrooms are also available.
Hotel residences
Do you want to be independent but still enjoy regular cleaning services? Hotel residences are perfect for you. Our 2* or 3* partner hotel residences offer studios, each with its own kitchenette and private bathroom.
They are located within 30 minutes of the school. You can even opt for breakfast at the residence! The tourist tax is to be paid on site.
